- CMS released the FY 2025 Skilled Nursing Facility Prospective Payment System (SNF) proposed rule updating Medicare payment policies and rates for skilled nursing facilities for the upcoming fiscal year on April 3. For FY 2025, CMS is proposing an update to the SNF PPS payment rates by 4.1% and revisions to the SNF Quality Reporting Program and Value-Based Purchasing Program. The proposed rule and fact sheet are available for review. Comments are due on May 28.
- CMS released the FY 2025 Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Prospective Payment System (IRF) proposed rule updating Medicare payment policies and rates for inpatient rehab facilities for the upcoming fiscal year on March 29. For FY 2025, CMS proposes to update the IRF PPS payment rates by 2.8%, make revisions to the IRF Quality Reporting Program, and seek information on the development of a five-star methodology for IRFs that can meaningfully distinguish quality of care offered by providers. The proposed rule and fact sheet are available for review. Comments are due on May 28.
